Give the video a customer question
Decide what the video should help a customer understand, then choose the intended Business Profile surface: a media upload or a post with its own message and action. Record that destination before commissioning the file. Check Google's current requirements for that surface and confirm the actual visibility after upload; an accepted scheduling action is not proof that a video is public.
A useful Profile video can help someone recognize the entrance, understand a service or know what to expect at a first visit. Choose one of those jobs before listing shots. Avoid trying to show every room, every staff role and every offer in one short explanation.
For a location-based question, specify the real entrance or service area. For a process question, decide which stage can be filmed clearly without showing a customer's private information. For an announcement, confirm the business facts and intended action before the shoot.
These are content-planning options, not evidence that a particular kind of video improves local ranking. The business's actual question and available scenes should decide the brief.
Choose a media upload or a post
Google's photo and video help describes uploads showing the business, its products and services. As checked in October 2026, that surface specifies video up to 30 seconds, up to 75 MB and at least 720p. Check verification and the current instructions before commissioning the file.
Google's separate post instructions support updates, offers and events with video. Updates can include a linked action; offers and events need their relevant dates and details. That page does not state the media-upload video limits. Do not silently apply one surface's requirements to the other.
The choice changes the preparation. An entrance video needs a useful view of the entrance. An event post needs a confirmed event description, dates and destination as well as its video. A file alone does not settle those publishing decisions.
Write the destination into the commission
Give the filmmaker the destination, the customer question, the intended file requirements and who will approve the result. If you already have a longer film, ask whether a separate version is part of the scope. Do not assume a shorter edit is automatically included or modify supplied originals without agreement.
Name the exact version that will be delivered and the person who will approve it. A longer film may still have its own use elsewhere; keep each approved file and its intended destination clear rather than overwriting one with another.
For several destinations, use choosing video formats. For choosing the actual scenes, use what to film in a monthly shoot.

Use roles in the shareable sheet. Account addresses, customer information and private permissions records belong in the business's own systems, not in a public article or a video frame.
Check the file and the customer destination
Watch the commissioned version on the intended screen. Check that the main subject is visible, business details are current and the action leads to the right place. A changed booking link or event date can make an otherwise accurate video difficult to use.
Then check the actual Profile state. Google's upload and post help distinguish live content from pending or unapproved content. Media visibility and post status need their own checks. Keep the record factual: scheduled, uploaded, pending or live, according to what the platform actually shows.
Do not report the upload as a customer inquiry or a booking. Those need separate business records; views and taps alone cannot establish either.
How we can help
Google Business Profile is one of the three default platforms in our social media management scope, alongside Instagram and Facebook. TikTok can replace one; a fourth platform is a paid extra scoped on the call. Agree the intended Profile content and any additional versions in writing; content only leaves publishing with your team.
