What to film.
  • "Your first visit": a walk-through from check-in to checkout, told by your team.
  • Meet the team: short introductions, in their own words.
  • Technology explained: what a tool does for the patient, in plain language.
  • Common questions: "Will it hurt?", "How long does it take?", "What if I haven't been in years?" Answered by your dentists, approved before posting.
  • Behind the scenes: sterilization, morning huddles, the details patients never see.
  • Patient stories, only with written authorization.

Patients appear only with written authorization.

  • Qualified privacy review

Set boundaries before the crew enters.

  • Cleared people and spaces

    No unauthorized patient information.

  • Confirmed use

    Written authorization where required.

Patients appear only with written authorization.

Your practice's qualified privacy reviewer sets the filming boundaries, authorization requirements and any agreement needed before the crew enters clinical areas. Staff-only demonstrations and cleared rooms can help show a visit without featuring patients.

HHS explains that film crews must not be given unauthorized access to protected health information; blurring a face afterward does not fix the original access. HHS film-crew guidance.

  • Keep uncleared patients, names, records, screens, schedules and identifiable audio outside the filming area.
  • Confirm the permitted people, scenes and uses before filming; pause if an unexpected person or record becomes accessible.
  • Any patient appearance needs the practice's confirmed written marketing authorization and qualified review of the planned use.
  • Clinical statements are approved by your clinical lead; medical questions and complaints go to your team.

Your practice handles privacy incidents and permission changes through its own process. We coordinate filming and publishing within the approved scope.

When to shoot.

  1. Choose the window

Before patients, a planned break or a closed block.

  2. Confirm access

    Rooms, records and participant permissions.

  3. Review the content

Clinical and privacy approval before posting.

When to shoot.

The best time is usually a planned block: before the first patient, over a long lunch or on a day the practice is closed to patients. A monthly shoot on a fixed date lets you block the schedule weeks ahead. A short shoot can happen alongside a normal day if we stay out of active operatories.

Questions from dental practices.

Scope, rights and timing, before the shoot.

Can we make videos without patients?

Yes. Most dental content features your team, your space and your answers to common questions.

Who approves what our dentists say on camera?

Your practice does. Your dentist reviews every clinical statement before anything is posted.

Can you film a procedure?

Only with the patient's written authorization and in a way that respects their comfort. Most practices show the technology and the room rather than a real procedure.

Do you answer patients' questions in our comments?

We answer simple ones on weekdays: hours, location, booking link. Anything about treatment or cost goes to your team.
